It had more than 10,000 networked devices, high consumables and maintenance costs, and difficulty managing assets, users, and mobile printing consistently across its worldwide operations. Xerox Corporation implemented a globally consistent outsourced print, scan, and copy service, standardizing the estate down to 3,500 devices, eliminating print servers, and adding remote monitoring, proactive support, and global billing. The solution reduced costs, removed assets from the balance sheet, improved service for mobile staff, and gave the company flexibility to expand and contract as business needs changed; it later expanded to cover an additional 2,000 devices and 80 million pages per year.
