Global Claims Management Company worked with Xerox Corporation to support a paperless office initiative. The company needed to reduce both outgoing paper creation and the large amount of incoming physical mail, while also eliminating delays in retrieving files that were hurting customer service and increasing document management costs.
Xerox Corporation re-engineered the mailroom by routing mail to a Xerox Digital Hub, where items were opened, scanned, indexed, and uploaded into the client’s content management system. Employees now receive digital mail notifications instead of paper, and documents are secured, archived, and destroyed after digitization. The result was about 1,000 documents processed each month, elimination of the need for a full-time mailroom operation, faster electronic access to files, and improved information security and quality controls.
