Case Study: Rochester Institute of Technology achieves faster, more consistent digital printing with Xerox iGen4

Fueling the drive to do more, and to do it better

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) needed a more reliable way to produce campus marketing materials, student applications, and other printed pieces with consistent color—especially difficult-to-print brown tones—while also supporting growing volumes and expanding variable data printing needs. The Print & Postal Hub was looking to upgrade or replace its digital press, and Xerox Corporation’s technology was a key consideration.

RIT chose to replace its Xerox® iGen3® Digital Production Press with a Xerox® iGen4® Press from Xerox Corporation. The new press delivered smoother installation, far less maintenance, stronger uptime, and faster variable data processing, with preview and RIP times about four times faster. It also improved color consistency through in-line spectrophotometer and auto-density control features, while helping RIT bring short-run work back in-house and handle rush jobs more flexibly.
