A Xerox Corporation Case Study
European Forum Alpbach, a non-profit organization in Vienna, Austria, needed a smarter way to manage printing for its annual forum, which attracts more than 4,500 participants from over 65 countries. The event faced challenges including excessive printing waste, the need for student and attendee print access, different permission levels for public laptops, and the need to produce the daily Alpbach News economically. Xerox Corporation, working with partner Speicherkraft, provided a tailored printing environment using Xerox® ColorQube® multifunction printers and Xerox® Mobile Print.
Xerox Corporation implemented individualized name badges with card-reader authentication, on-demand printing for agendas and programs, controlled access to public laptops and printers, and secure pull-printing for released jobs only after authentication. The solution improved print security, kept infrastructure highly available with on-site Xerox analytical support, and reduced paper, toner, energy use, storage space, and waste. Xerox’s solid ink technology also helped make the Alpbach News more efficient and sustainable, while reusable name badges saved time and money for future events.
