A Xerox Corporation Case Study
SendOutCards, a West Valley City, Utah-based personalized greeting card company, needed a way to keep up with rapidly growing demand while maintaining fast turnaround and high print quality. As its business expanded, its entry-level Xerox production printers could no longer handle the volume required for the company’s highly customized, photo-driven cards.
Xerox replaced three lower-volume printers with two Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Presses driven by XMPie software, and SendOutCards later expanded to a total of six iGens, including two iGen4 Presses. The result was four times the output for the same total cost, production of about one million cards per month under normal conditions, and peak output of nearly 700,000 cards per day. Xerox also helped the company launch new premium products and extend into photo books, calendars, and posters.
