A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Cleveland State University, a public university serving about 17,000 students, faced the challenge of keeping tuition affordable while meeting state mandates to cut energy expenditures and reduce its carbon footprint. With more than 2,500 print devices scattered across campus, the university needed a way to lower costs, improve sustainability, and stay focused on student success. Xerox Corporation’s Managed Print Services offered a path to address these goals.
Working with Xerox Corporation, Cleveland State University consolidated its fleet from 2,500 devices to about 350 multifunction machines, adding secure scanning and printing, centralized device management, and automatic supplies ordering. The results included savings of about $550K–$600K per year, a 56 percent reduction in greenhouse gases, and a 59 percent reduction in solid waste, while also improving document security and freeing funds to reinvest in student programs and the campus.
