A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Cleveland Public Library, a major urban library serving 1.4 million patrons across 28 branches, needed a better way to provide access to technology as demand grew for color printing, scanning, faxing, wireless, and mobile printing. The library also wanted to streamline fee collection, reduce maintenance on its public printers, and integrate printing with its existing patron database. Xerox Corporation was brought in to help design a solution that could meet these needs.
Xerox Corporation implemented a customized, fully integrated print environment built around 55 Xerox multifunction devices, replacing 180 single-function, multi-vendor machines. The new system let patrons use their library card to print, copy, scan, fax, and access mobile printing, while freeing staff from handling payments and troubleshooting devices. The result was streamlined operations, improved patron service, and new revenue streams from color, mobile printing, and scanning.
