A Xerox Corporation Case Study
City of Colorado Springs faced a complex print environment with more than 1,200 devices across its agencies, including 250 different printer, copier, scanner, and fax models from multiple vendors. Managing the mix of support contracts, maintenance requests, and rising costs had become difficult for the city’s IT team. Xerox Corporation was brought in to help streamline and centralize the city’s print operations through Xerox Managed Print Services.
Xerox Corporation reconfigured the city’s print infrastructure into a centralized, networked fleet of about 200 energy-efficient multifunction devices, with proactive monitoring, supplies management, and dedicated on-site support. The results included $185,000 in annual ink and toner savings, a reduction of 1.7 million sheets of paper per year, lower energy consumption, and a streamlined fleet from 1,200 devices to fewer than 200. Xerox also freed the city’s IT staff to focus on user support and other core services.
