Baptist St. Anthony’s Health System, an award-winning healthcare provider in Texas, faced significant challenges with its fragmented document management infrastructure. Following a series of mergers, the organization was struggling with a multivendor fleet of devices, slow service response times, and uncontrolled costs, which impeded productivity and its plans to implement an Electronic Medical Records system. Xerox Corporation worked with them to develop a more strategic document services solution to address these issues.
Xerox implemented a comprehensive solution that included managing the entire device fleet, establishing a state-of-the-art Document Center with an iGen3® press, and providing staff training. They also automated paper-intensive processes and introduced a print-on-demand and bar coding system for EMR. The results were substantial, including $200,000 in first-year savings, a reduction in service response time from weeks to 30 minutes, and a 90% decrease in outside printing costs, saving over $300,000 annually. Xerox helped the health system dramatically improve efficiency, compliance, and cost control.
