Case Study: Buffalo Printing Co. achieves 3X growth with Xerox workflow automation

A Xerox Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Buffalo Printing Co. Case Study

Automation fuels 3X growth for printing company

Buffalo Printing Co., a Western New York print provider, was struggling with a manual order-entry process that required staff to re-key 200–400 print jobs per day across more than 12,000 SKUs. The backlog slowed production, strained customer service, and pushed time-to-payment beyond 60 days. Xerox Corporation became involved with a workflow automation approach centered on Xerox® FreeFlow Process Manager® and Avanti’s Graphic Arts Management System.

Xerox Corporation implemented an integrated automation solution that automatically imports orders, creates jobs, routes them through prepress workflows, and sends them to the right production device. The results were dramatic: ticketing time dropped from days to about an hour, the pre-press share of work fell from 70% to 3%, and invoices were generated in hours instead of weeks. Buffalo Printing Co. reported that sales tripled while staffing stayed flat, and time-to-payment improved to under 30 days.
