Case Study: Blue Valley School District achieves lights-out printing and faster turnaround with Xerox and RSA

A Xerox Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Blue Valley School District Case Study

Automating repetitive functions to dramatically boost volumes without adding costs

Blue Valley School District, a K-12 school system in Kansas, struggled with a slow, manual print shop process that handled most orders in hardcopy and often took three to four days to complete. As print demand grew by about 40% over three years, staff and teachers increasingly bypassed the shop and used office MFPs, creating inefficiencies and rising costs.

Xerox Corporation, working with Rochester Software Associates, implemented a digital printing solution using Xerox® Extensible Interface Platform®-enabled MFPs, QDirect.SCAN™ and WebCRD™ software, and a fleet of Xerox production devices. The new workflow automated ordering and prepress tasks, cut turnaround times by more than half, increased output from fewer than 50 jobs a day to more than 350 orders a day, and enabled “lights-out printing” with 68% of jobs automated.
