Automating Fax Processing at West Coast Manufacturer Improving Efficiencies with Xerox® DocuShare® Solution

West Coast Manufacturing, a Northwest stocking manufacturer’s representative for the wholesale plumbing and HVAC industries, was receiving too many documents by fax, which wasted paper and made it difficult to track documents through their lifecycle. It turned to Xerox Corporation, working with QBSI, for a more efficient electronic process that could streamline fax handling and route incoming documents internally. The solution involved Xerox® DocuShare®, along with Xerox® WorkCentre® multifunction printers and Nuance® ScanFlowStore®.

Xerox Corporation implemented a fully automated workflow using fax forwarding, ScanFlowStore, and DocuShare to recognize each fax as it arrived, extract metadata, sort it, and route it appropriately. The result was a highly cost-effective process with a solid return on investment that improved users’ ability to access, share, and process business-critical information. West Coast Manufacturing was so pleased with the Xerox solution that it planned to implement a similar approach at another location.
