Large Electric Infrastructure Company - Customer Case Study

a large electric utility infrastructure company was developing an energy solution for a new mixed-use facility in southern California. The local utility had a constraint limiting imports to 3MW, meaning the majority of the expected energy load had to be generated onsite. The customer needed to determine the optimal mix of carport solar and linear generators to provide a reliable Energy as a Service solution and turned to Xendee for its microgrid design and planning platform.

Using Xendee, the client built a realistic load profile, modeled specific generator performance, and incorporated local solar and utility tariff data. They then ran a minimum cost optimization with the software. The results provided the expected annual energy dispatch, total and average costs, and the optimal technology mix. With this data from Xendee, the client was able to submit a confident, lowest-cost quote for a reliable microgrid solution.
