A Xendee Case Study
A large energy services developer was looking to provide resilient backup power for a pharmaceutical facility with two buildings. The challenge was that, while each building had its own solar array, they shared a battery and a fuel cell. This shared system needed to support a full 24-hour outage for both buildings simultaneously.
Using Xendee, the client modeled the existing solar assets and a specified fuel cell to optimally size the battery. The Xendee platform was used to simulate a 24-hour outage at the most demanding time of year as a design requirement. This resulted in a design that successfully supported the buildings' loads through the outage. Furthermore, Xendee's optimized annual dispatch analysis provided the client with a clear understanding of the system's expected operation and its projected impact on future utility bills.
