The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) faced two key energy modeling challenges: researching hydrokinetic tidal and wave energy in collaboration with partners in Alaska and conducting innovative modeling for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). To overcome these hurdles, INL partnered with the vendor Xendee.

Xendee provided its platform and energy analytics capabilities to analyze hydrokinetic projects and develop innovative SMR modeling concepts. This solution facilitated groundbreaking research for INL. The collaboration was highly successful, leading directly to the laboratory securing additional research funding, which allowed it to expand its efforts and remain at the forefront of its field.
