RTVSLO, Slovenia’s national public broadcaster, faced the challenge of preserving and making searchable one of the country’s largest audio-visual archives, spanning analog audio tapes, videotape, and film. To support its Mediateka digitization program, the organization worked with XenData and the XenData Archive Series software alongside NOA’s mediARC archive asset management system.

XenData’s solution manages RTVSLO’s LTO-based archive storage, with a Qualstar XLS robotic library and RAID cache presented as a single Windows file system over SMB for seamless integration with mediARC. The system provides long-term, scalable storage for an archive estimated at 25 PB, while XenData’s end-to-end logical block protection and automated replica cartridge creation help ensure data integrity and offsite protection for the digitized content.
