AMI Implements Media Archiving To Cloud Object Storage

AMI is a Canadian not-for-profit media company serving blind and partially sighted audiences across TV, radio, web, and apps. Working with XenData, AMI needed to move its valuable archived media content from a robotic LTO tape archive to cloud object storage without disrupting operations, while keeping content accessible as a standard Windows file-folder structure.

XenData helped AMI extend its archive to Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, using a hybrid setup that supported both the existing on-premises LTO system and the cloud. AMI used a Wasabi Ball appliance to transfer about 60 TB of media, and XenData then cataloged the cloud content and synchronized new archives to both locations. The result was a quick, seamless transition with improved security and accessibility, plus significant savings in operational and support costs.
