How Whitehall Middle School Transitioned to a Vibrant E-Learning Solution That Inspires Students to Explore Future Pathways

Whitehall Middle School, a middle school in Michigan, needed to transition its college and career readiness program from an older platform, Career Cruising, to a new solution from the vendor Xello. The school's sole counselor was initially concerned about a steep learning curve for staff and students when adopting the new e-learning software.

The school implemented Xello, whose interactive and intuitive interface was immediately embraced by the students. The use of Xello's features like Matchmaker made future readiness learning more engaging. Results from a student survey showed the platform was effective, with a high percentage of 8th graders agreeing that Xello helped them connect their interests and skills to potential careers and plan their transition to high school. The transition was also smooth from an administrative perspective, with single sign-on integration making access easy for the 480 students.
