How One Texas District Made the Switch to Xello to Meet the Needs of Their Diverse K-12 Student Population

The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District, serving a diverse K-12 student population, faced the challenge of delivering effective college and career readiness (CCR) with an extremely high advisor-to-student ratio and the need to meet Texas' college, career, or military readiness (CCMR) reporting requirements. The district needed an accessible, Spanish-language-capable tool to help instill self-awareness in students and support them through the college application process.

The district implemented Xello as its comprehensive CCR solution for its powerful reporting, course planning tools, and college application support. Following staff training and the identification of campus "champions," Xello was rolled out to engage students. In its first year, 45% of the student body accessed the platform and 20% completed all assigned lessons. Xello provided the tools for students to develop self-awareness and for advisors to deliver more tailored support, helping the district progress toward its goal of ensuring all students have a plan for their future.
