Case Study: NetDespatch achieves 85% faster, fully automated scalable microservices deployments with XebiaLabs (XL Deploy)

A XebiaLabs Case Study

Preview of the NetDespatch Case Study

Managing Large-scale Complex Microservices Deployments

NetDespatch, a leading SaaS retail‑logistics integration platform processing millions of transactions per month, faced an unscalable, time‑consuming deployment process across a complex Java microservices environment (Chef, TeamCity, Gradle, Artifactory, Git). With dozens of configuration variants and multi‑environment promotion, deployments were taking about two hours and could not keep pace with growth.

NetDespatch implemented an automated deployment process using XL Deploy (agentless) with the Satellite module, integrated with Chef and their lifecycle systems, enabling product owners to deploy safely and globally while enforcing controls. The change cut deployment time by over 85% (from ~2 hours to ~20 minutes and still falling), made deployments a standardized “non‑event,” enabled the microservices architecture to scale, and provided clear, real‑time visibility into what is deployed where.
