Preview of the Panini Case Study

Panini - Customer Case Study

Panini, a global leader in collectibles, magazines and trading cards, wanted to move beyond its brick-and-mortar roots into a scalable, gamified digital experience. Their initial Gridiron apps couldn’t handle a catalog of 100+ million cards, suffered server crashes, had security gaps and limited trades—blocking the user experience—so Panini engaged [x]cube LABS to plan and execute their digital transformation.

[x]cube retired the legacy apps, migrated purchase data and launched new, secure mobile experiences (NFL Blitz, NBA Dunk and the official FIFA World Cup trading app) built with Unity, Java/PHP, AWS and DevOps practices. The apps added global collection browsing, trades up to 16 cards, hourly free-coin rewards and weekly contests; the relaunch drove a 40% increase in average revenue per user and a 20% rise in paid users, with ongoing maintenance and updates to sustain growth.
