How we helped GE develop a Mobile EMR

[x]cube LABS partnered with GE Healthcare to mobile-enable Centricity Advance, a desktop web-based EMR that forced physicians into cumbersome paper note-taking and desktop data entry. The main challenge was understanding the existing EMR and prescription module and addressing technical hurdles such as converting clinical data into PDF files while preserving real-time access and security.

The team built CA Mobile for iPhone and Android, delivering mobile access to patient records, lab results, secure messaging and physician work lists so clinicians could complete notes and manage tasks on the go. As a result, physicians gained timely access to critical patient data, improved monitoring and intervention, and restored a more natural patient–clinician interaction by removing the barrier of constant computer use.
