Dr. Lal PathLabs, a nearly 70-year-old leading pathology chain in India offering over 3,300 diagnostic tests, faced customer dissatisfaction from uncertainty about report delivery times—patients frequently called or visited to ask when results would be ready, and multi-department workflows made accurate estimates difficult. [x]cube LABS was engaged to predict report timings reliably by analyzing historical and master data and modeling the interdependent steps across tests and departments.

[x]cube built a customized machine-learning solution (using Random Forest and Gradient Boosting ensembles) that estimates end-to-end and per-test completion times, accounts for exceptional delays (machine breakdowns, manpower or logistics issues), and offers configurable buffers; estimates carry a +/- two-hour margin. The system is available via web, IVR, collection centers and mobile app, has helped hundreds of customers track reports, and removed much of the manual uncertainty for both the lab and its customers.
