Asian Paints, India’s leading paint manufacturer with a global footprint, wanted to improve internal training for its large sales force so reps could reliably identify real-world building damages and recommend the right product solutions. Traditional classroom materials and images couldn’t reproduce damage scenarios, leaving trainees underprepared and less convincing in the field; Asian Paints engaged [x]cube Labs to pilot a VR approach despite initial apprehension.

[x]cube Labs built a mobile VR solution for Google Daydream with two modules: an experiential 3D house walkthrough where users click on damaged areas to learn the damage type, root cause, common locations and the Asian Paints product to fix it, and an evaluation module with interactive assessments. The immersive visuals and descriptive pop-ups were well received, deployed to sales reps and dealers, and prompted Asian Paints to expand VR into more areas.
