Asta, a diversified insurance services business focused on the London and Lloyd’s market, inherited two syndicates using an older, poorly received version of Xchanging’s Iris insurance software after a transfer from another managing agency. The company needed to stabilise the system, improve confidence among users, and enhance reporting for regulators without the disruption and cost of moving to a new application.

Xchanging worked with Asta to upgrade Iris from V8.14 to V11.17 over six months, timing the rollout around key reporting deadlines and delivering it on time and within budget. The upgrade reduced monthly support hours and costs, improved configurability and functionality for different syndicates, strengthened user satisfaction through thorough testing, and gave Asta more control and agility for future growth and management information needs.
