Virtual HR Services Organization worked with XCentium to address the difficulty business users had in getting and understanding data from a complex data model and physical data infrastructure. Their custom analyses were time-consuming to assemble, required significant IT effort, and delayed responses to customer queries. XCentium used Tableau to help streamline analysis delivery and support a self-service approach for customers.
XCentium identified the most frequently needed data and built a simple datamart that combined sources and translated fields into business-friendly terminology. Tableau Data Extracts were used where needed, and XCentium helped prototype common analyses and support user training. As a result, business users were able to access their own data and complete analyses in 60–80% of cases, while IT could supply the remaining custom data through the datamart, greatly improving responsiveness.
