XCentium worked with a Fortune 100 Telecommunications Firm that was struggling with very poor OLAP performance in a large SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) environment. The client supported a complex dashboard application and regional market analysts doing time-sensitive ad hoc research, but monthly reporting to leadership was especially slow and frustrating.
XCentium analyzed business needs, processing timing, and query patterns, then prototyped and tested multiple SSAS optimization improvements, including MDX tuning, cache preloading, and refining the historical data needed. The result was a major performance boost: OLAP interactions that had taken 10–30 minutes were reduced to as little as 10 seconds, enabling analysts to deliver reports on time and uncovering data errors that were corrected.
