U.S. Army improves patient record access with VDI and Xangati

The U.S. Army needed to speed up access to its patient record system, which had become so slow that doctors were losing valuable time during short patient appointments. As part of a pilot VDI program, the Army turned to Xangati and its VDI Performance Management Solution to help ensure consistent performance across the virtual desktop environment.

Xangati helped the U.S. Army deploy a virtualized desktop setup for the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Application using tiered storage, SSDs, and RAM-based optimization. With Xangati monitoring the VDI environment, login times dropped from 3–5 minutes to less than 30 seconds in early implementations, while also improving overall performance and reducing storage demands.
