Managing VMworld Copenhagen’s VDI vCloud

VMworld Copenhagen needed to support thousands of attendees, 30 hands-on labs, and main stage demos with 240 simultaneous VDI sessions delivered over a WAN across the Atlantic. To ensure the virtual desktop cloud performed reliably, VMworld turned to Xangati and its Infrastructure Performance Management solution for visibility into the VDI vCloud and related physical infrastructure.

Xangati helped VMworld design, monitor, and validate the environment by measuring bandwidth, host and VM utilization, vMotion, NFS latency, and PCoIP performance across the two U.S.-based data centers. The result was a flawless event with no user-impacting issues, 56,435 VMs deployed, and 5,948 successful lab sessions.
