Coastal Companies combines 3 Xangati suites for end-user service assurance

Coastal Companies, a fast-growing food service distributor, was struggling to maintain performance across its VMware Horizon/View virtual desktops and vSphere-based servers as users brought in many different devices and complaints rose. The team needed Xangati to gain clearer insight into application health, datastore latency, and the real end-user experience beyond what their existing network monitoring tools could show.

Using Xangati’s VI, VDI, and Network Suites, Coastal Companies quickly identified a storage bottleneck and saw datastore latency spike from 10ms to over 1,000ms. Xangati’s StormTracker pointed to overloaded NetApp controllers, leading Coastal to move VDI desktops to a second NetApp device. As a result, server performance improved, SLAs were consistently met, end-user experience became snappy and responsive, and Coastal avoided unnecessary infrastructure spending by rebalancing existing resources.
