Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, needed a cross-platform way to expand its tablet-based Pearson System of Courses beyond the iPad while maintaining quality, fidelity, and support across multiple devices and operating systems. After frustrating early attempts with other options, Pearson turned to Xamarin through partner Fino Consulting to build a solution using the Xamarin Platform and Microsoft Visual Studio.

Xamarin helped Pearson deliver an agile cross-platform education platform with 65% shared code, improving stability, performance, and development speed. The solution launched in 2014, was adopted by eight school districts serving 85,000 students, and was built to scale on Microsoft Azure for about 40 terabytes of first-year load; Xamarin Insights also helped catch defects earlier in the development cycle.
