ProMedica Laboratories digitizes analog processes with scalable and sustainable mobile apps

ProMedica Laboratories, a large-scale medical testing operation, faced the challenge of replacing its inefficient, paper-based system for equipment maintenance and compliance documentation. To address this, they partnered with Xamarin Premier Partner Kaonsoft to develop a digital solution.

The solution was a multi-platform tablet application called LACS, built with Xamarin, which allowed for 85-90% code reuse across Android, iOS, and UWP. Developed in just five months, the Xamarin-based app streamlined inspections, integrated with Azure cloud services for storage and notifications, and enabled bi-weekly updates. The successful partnership also led to the creation of a new joint venture, Kapios Health, to offer these mobile and cloud solutions to other healthcare providers.
