MRW expands to Android with ease using Xamarin

MRW, Spain’s leading express transport company, needed to move its mission-critical MRWMobile app from Windows Mobile to Android while preserving the performance, security, and rich field features users relied on. The challenge was to deliver the new app quickly, maximize future code reuse, and keep the option open for additional platforms such as iOS.

Xamarin helped MRW and its partner Moving2u build the Android version using Xamarin.Android, C#, and Visual Studio, reusing about 90% of the code and cutting development time by 50%. The resulting app delivered secure communication, offline support, barcode scanning, signature capture, mobile payments, and more, and was immediately well received by users for combining familiar workflows with native Android behavior.
