McKesson delivers high-value mobile capabilities for physicians and patients

McKesson, the healthcare services company behind Medisoft and Lytec practice management software, needed a faster way to deliver mobile capabilities for physicians and patients across iOS and Android. Using Xamarin and Xamarin.Forms, McKesson aimed to add mobile features such as patient creation and electronic check-in while working with a small team that had limited mobile development experience.

Xamarin enabled McKesson to build both apps simultaneously, reuse 90% to 95% of the code between platforms, and complete a release-ready version in about five months. The new features improved patient and physician experiences, reduced data-entry effort, and helped increase upgrade rates for Medisoft and Lytec, while also saving significant time and money for McKesson.
