Refinery29 partnered with Wunderkind to scale and expand its email footprint and improve in-session engagement. As a leading digital publisher focused on young women, Refinery29 needed to grow a high-quality, long-term newsletter audience and convert transient visitors into repeat readers; they used Wunderkind’s List Growth, Email Acquisition, and Publisher In-Session Engagement products to address this challenge.
Wunderkind implemented customized, behavior-triggered onsite messaging and segmented, less-disruptive email capture experiences to collect more and higher-quality subscribers and opt users into multiple newsletters. The results: a 21% YoY increase in average new monthly subscribers, Wunderkind opt-ins achieving 33% higher open rates in days 0–30 and 64% higher open rates in days 91–120. The partnership has since expanded to geo-targeting, affiliate promotions and international editions, driving additional revenue and engagement.
