A WSO2 Case Study

Preview of the Alfa Bank Case Study

WSO2 Middleware Ensures Alfa-Bank a Promising Future in SOA

Alfa-Bank in Ukraine, a provider of reliable financial services, faced significant integration challenges when introducing a new Temenos T24 core banking system into its existing infrastructure. The bank's IT team, led by Dmitry Lukyanov, struggled with inflexible point-to-point connections, a lack of documentation for legacy systems, and the complexity of the new T24 protocol. To overcome this, they turned to vendor WSO2 for a solution.

WSO2 addressed the challenge using its Application Server and Enterprise Service Bus. This solution provided a homogeneous communication platform that exposed the core banking system's functionality as web services, enabling real-time integration with all other systems and third-party applications. The results included immediate system interoperability and a foundational step towards a full SOA implementation. A key benefit highlighted by the customer was achieving this with zero licensing costs using WSO2's open-source products.
