Motorola Mobility needed to replace heavy on-premises ESBs after a website crash during a major shopping event caused lost transactions and exposed the need for a more agile, cloud-ready integration platform. After evaluating vendors, Motorola chose WSO2 and its lightweight ESB/Integration Platform, including WSO2 Enterprise Integrator, to support its move to hybrid cloud, containers, and zero-touch automation.

WSO2 helped Motorola re-architect its environment with multiple ESBs across AWS and OpenStack, enabling auto-healing, auto-scaling, and a micro-platform approach. The result was a much more resilient system: the next Thanksgiving peak ran without issues, and new integration work now takes less than a week to complete, while 90% of traffic is handled on OpenStack and 10% on AWS.
