Case Study: United Airlines improves passenger flow and operational insights with WSO2

A WSO2 Case Study

Preview of the United Airlines Case Study

United Airlines - Customer Case Study

United Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the United States, began exploring IoT through experiments that involved placing Bluetooth beacons throughout a major terminal and geo-tagging devices. The airline was dealing with massive data volumes, including 300 million requests from a single airport, and needed a way to turn that data into operational value.

WSO2 provided analytics capabilities that support United Airlines’ architecture and help process the IoT data. With WSO2, United Airlines has been able to decrease passenger waiting times, improve aircraft turn management, and predict future patterns, while also creating a foundation for future apps and projects such as wheelchair requests, ground fleet management, and aircraft activity tracking.
