Société Générale, the Paris-based investment and retail bank with more than 18 million customers worldwide, was looking to advance its open banking strategy to improve time-to-market, modernize business models, and support PSD2 compliance across Europe and digital banking growth in Africa. To do this, the bank needed a technology partner that could support open APIs, secure integration with third parties, and a modular, API-first architecture.

WSO2 implemented WSO2 Open Banking to provide the API platform, secure bank and third-party connectivity, and integration analytics that Société Générale needed. The solution helped speed up deployments, support B2B2C and PSD2 use cases in markets such as Germany, the Czech Republic, France, and Africa, and reduce time to market with a scalable API layer; Société Générale also reported being selected as the most advanced company among 44 listed firms in the French market.
