Nutanix Enhances Experience of Rapidly Growing User Base With Single Sign-on Using WSO2 Identity Server

Nutanix, a leading provider of hyper-converged systems, needed to simplify access for users across its multiple customer, partner, and employee web portals. The requirement for users to log in multiple times was inconvenient and hampered productivity, leading the company to seek a single sign-on (SSO) solution. Nutanix selected WSO2 Identity Server from vendor WSO2 for its support of multiple authentication protocols and devices.

WSO2 implemented its Identity Server as a central backbone for user authentication, supporting the OAuth 2.0 and SAML standards. This provided a seamless sign-on experience, automatically granting users access to all portals for which they were authorized. The solution proved highly reliable, achieving 100% availability in its first year even as Nutanix's user base grew tenfold. The successful implementation led Nutanix to later adopt WSO2's managed cloud service for the product.
