NITA-U cuts identity verification from days to seconds with WSO2

The National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) faced significant challenges in delivering digital services due to siloed government agencies, manual paper-based processes, and a lack of secure, real-time data sharing. To unify its fragmented digital landscape, NITA-U selected the WSO2 platform to build a national integration backbone.

WSO2 provided the solution through its WSO2 Integrator, API Manager, and Identity Server products, which power the national UGHub platform. The results include the seamless integration of over 150 public and private entities, cutting identity verification from days to seconds and reducing driving license issuance to 30 minutes. WSO2's platform now facilitates over 1.6 million secure transactions monthly, creating a unified digital government experience for Uganda.
