MVola, Madagascar's leading mobile money service and a subsidiary of the Axian Group, faced challenges in scaling its high-volume transaction platform and achieving operational independence from its parent company, Telma. To modernize its infrastructure, support real-time payments, and empower third-party developers, MVola turned to vendor WSO2 and its API Management platform to build a robust and scalable solution.

The solution implemented by WSO2 provided a cloud-native API management and integration platform that gave MVola full control over its digital services. This enabled them to securely manage over 20 APIs handling more than a billion transactions annually, launch a developer portal for partners, and ensure reliable service for over 10 million customers across USSD and their Super App. The results included processing over 35 million transactions monthly with high availability and driving significant financial inclusion across Madagascar.
