Medical Device Integration for Better Decision Making in the Healthcare Industry
Engineering Ingegneria Informatica, an Italian software solutions provider, faced the challenge of securely connecting and analyzing data from thousands of medical devices in hospitals and homes to improve patient monitoring and decision making. To build its Medical Device Integration (MDI) solution, it used the WSO2 Integration Agile platform, including WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 Enterprise Integrator, and WSO2 Stream Processor.
WSO2 enabled secure device-to-device communication, real-time event processing, protocol transformation, and customized dashboards for clinical and technical alerts. The result was a system that improved monitoring in intensive care and remote care settings, reduced the risk of human error, and sped up decision making by turning complex device data into actionable trends and notifications.
