Case Study: Jurong Port achieves secure API-centric microservices transformation with WSO2

A WSO2 Case Study

Jurong Port accelerates microservices rollout and secures 15,000+ vessels a year with WSO2

Jurong Port, a leading global multipurpose port operator in Singapore, faced the challenge of overhauling its outdated technological infrastructure to fuel business agility. To become a 'Next Generation Multipurpose Port,' it needed an API-centric platform to break down a monolithic application into microservices, enabling scalability and the ability to monetize digital assets. WSO2 was selected for this digital transformation.

WSO2 implemented its API Manager as the gateway and WSO2 Identity Server as the key manager for authentication and authorization. This created a secure API-centric platform with an Angular front end and SpringBoot microservices backend. The results included a seamless and safe exchange of information with business partners using OAuth2 tokens and rate limiting. WSO2's solution enabled fast microservices deployment, which, coupled with new DevOps practices, noticeably improved efficiency for Jurong Port.
