HNB Goes Digital with IoT-enabled HNB Fit Mobile Application

Hatton National Bank (HNB), a leading private bank in Sri Lanka, wanted to strengthen its digital presence and make banking easier for mobile users by launching an IoT-enabled app, HNB Fit. To support this new service, HNB needed a way to expose core banking functions securely through APIs and integrate the app with its existing banking systems.

WSO2 provided the integration backbone for the solution using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus, with WSO2 Data Analytics Server for system monitoring. The app connects to WSO2 REST APIs and translates messages into ISO 8583 for the core banking system, enabling a smooth, always-on connection. The result was a simpler sign-up and login experience, successful external system integration with no downtime, and a foundation for future digital services that could also use WSO2 API Manager.
