Case Study: Nations Trust Bank achieves digital agility and secure open banking with WSO2

A WSO2 Case Study

Preview of the Nations Trust Bank Case Study

Evolution of Nations Trust Bank’s Open Banking Story

Nations Trust Bank (NTB), one of Sri Lanka’s largest private banks, wanted to pioneer open banking and better support changing customer expectations, but its many legacy integrations and different APIs across channels created inconsistencies, complexity, and a risk of single points of failure. To move forward, NTB turned to WSO2 Open Banking and WSO2 Identity Server to unify API management, security, integration, and identity across its banking services and third-party connections.

With WSO2, NTB built a more scalable architecture with single sign-on, centralized API control, and improved monitoring, allowing one identity to work across multiple applications. The bank can now integrate with new third parties in about a week, reduce service disruption, and ensure account changes reflect everywhere instantly. WSO2 helped NTB improve customer experience, strengthen security, and achieve greater digital agility.
