A WSO2 Case Study
SAP Concur, a leading global provider of on-demand employee spend management systems, faced the challenge of consolidating critical client data that was trapped across multiple disconnected enterprise applications. This reliance on manual data synchronization and custom reporting placed heavy demands on both employees and server resources. To overcome this, they initiated a Client Data SOA project and selected the WSO2 open source SOA middleware platform, including the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and Web Services Application Server, for its integration capabilities and cost-effectiveness.
WSO2's solution enabled SAP Concur to quickly create web services from its various data sources and efficiently connect them. The results were immediate and significant; one data synchronization project that previously took three weeks was replicated in just three hours using the WSO2 ESB. The initiative, delivered in weeks, saved the company up to $1 million compared to large vendor solutions. It also eliminated unnecessary hardware demands by only picking up data changes and streamlined reporting for over 900 employees.
