A WSO2 Case Study
The customer, CAST, a research project by SEERC and CAS Software AG, faced the challenge of creating a stable and reliable open SaaS platform that could be safely extended by third-party developers. Their primary challenge was balancing this flexibility with the need to govern the platform effectively, ensuring all components complied with policies and would not harm performance. They selected the WSO2 Governance Registry from vendor WSO2 as the foundation for their solution.
WSO2 provided the core governance platform, which CAST then extensively customized and extended. The solution, built on WSO2's product, successfully delivered a central registry for cataloging assets, managing lifecycles, tracking dependencies, and enforcing policy compliance. The extensible architecture allowed CAST to add vital custom features like an external service monitoring engine and role-based access management, resulting in a robust platform that mitigates risk and simplifies the delivery of on-demand enterprise applications.
