A WSO2 Case Study
The Swiss Alpine Club (Schweizer Alpen Club) needed to simplify customer identity management across its website and portals, where members and visitors used multiple systems for reservations, course registrations, insurance, and other services. The club wanted a single sign-on (SSO) approach to unify identities, access rights, and identity providers, while supporting more than 140,000 user roles and a growing user base.
WSO2 implemented the solution using WSO2 Identity Server, working with Avintis SA to create a central, open-source identity management platform with strong authentication and support for standards like SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect. The result was integration of over 500,000 identities and 140,000+ roles, a unified login experience across SAC portals, and more efficient, transparent data management by removing silos.
