A WSO2 Case Study
UK-based logistics and delivery service provider CitySprint identified a gap in the market for a service offering customers precise one-hour delivery time slots. Their challenge was to build a new, cloud-native platform to support this "On the dot" service. They needed to move their data centers to the cloud, create open RESTful APIs, enable identity federation, and foster a developer community, all while adhering to their tenet of using open source software.
To solve this, CitySprint implemented a platform using WSO2’s API management, integration, and identity and access management capabilities. Using a DevOps approach, they built an adaptable API ecosystem that simplified integration and allowed developers to self-sign and use the APIs. The results were highly successful, empowering CitySprint to launch the On the dot service, form an innovation community, and generate new revenue streams. Following this success in the UK, CitySprint is now planning a global expansion using the WSO2-based platform.
